The 2017 event showcased food and drinks from some of Austin’s award-winning restaurants, football stars, entertainment and a fantastic auction. Hall of Famers Tony Dorsett, Joe Greene, and Rayfield Wright as well as UT Greats were in attendance to lend their support for the Pro Player Foundation and the Society’s goal of changing the world for everyone affected by MS. Guests indulged in culinary bites from Dine, the Bonneville, Chinatown, Eberly, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Hoover’s Cooking, Little Barrel and Brown, Paperboy, Austin Gourmet Popcorn, Ranch 616, Salt Lick BBQ, Searsucker, The University of Texas Club and Winflo Osteria. Delectable desserts were provided by Amy’s Ice Creams, Shipley Do-Nuts and Sinsational Cakes Bakery. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on sports memorabilia, restaurant packages, a trip to Mexico and ResorTime vacations to Hawaii and San Diego. Austin is the live music capital of the world and Flavors featured entertainment provided by Austin-born and raised Jane Ellen Bryant and Beauties and the Beat, an A Cappella group from the University of Texas.

In December of 2007, Tyler Campbell, youngest son of Earl, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. MS is an unpredictable and often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupting the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. At the time of his diagnosis, Tyler was a Running Back at San Diego State University. He continued to play his senior season, but because he feared being a distraction, Tyler chose not to tell anyone on the team about his disease. Although MS put a stop to his dream of becoming a professional athlete, Tyler views his diagnosis as a blessing, stating, “I now have the opportunity to share my experience to help others living with this disease and make an impact on the MS community.” Tyler now serves as an MS Ambassador for Pro Player Foundation and the National MS Society, and has dedicated his life to raising awareness and helping others who struggle with the disease.

The Pro Player Foundation addresses the needs of those diagnosed with MS by raising funds and awareness through special events and programs. Pro Player Foundation hosts Flavors of the Gaslamp, Flavors of New England and Flavors of Austin across the country.

The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now, to move together toward a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. They help each person address the challenges of living with MS through their 50-state network of chapters. The MS Society helps fund cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, and provides programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
